Opening Event

Sumlock Electronics is a local company with national reach. We were founded in 1976 and throughout our 34 year history we have grown by listening to customers and tailoring our offerings to satisfy their needs and desires. This has allowed us to differentiate ourselves from other IT companies and has helped us to build up a very loyal and happy customer base. After 33 years at our previous address on New Bridge Street, we have recently moved to our new premises and to celebrate this move and next step in the evolution of our business, we are holding two open-house events. These are going to be 12 Noon to 6pm on Wednesday 24th February and 8am to 12 Noon on Thursday 25th February when we will be able to show local companies around our new offices and provide them with complimentary refreshments.

Also on the day, we will be able to demonstrate to the visitors some of the new and innovative solutions that we are currently providing for our existing customers. Some of these include Virtualisation, Business Continuity and Eco Friendly Computing. To this end, we have invited some of our manufacturing partners from the industry to demonstrate some of the technologies that are available and how these can be utilised to consolidate infrastructures, reduce cost and complexity and also address some of the issues around ecology and reducing your carbon footprint.

Some highlights of the event include NEC Computers who will be present to discuss some of their technologies which can be used as part of Server, Desktop or Software Virtualisation projects. They will be on hand to discuss any live or future projects and explain some of the important issues to look out for. We will also be showcasing a number of Thin Client or Virtual Desktop solutions which can be deployed to bring significant savings on total cost, administration and power consumption.

Whether people have a real project right now, may be considering something in the future, or would just like to come and have a look at some of the new technologies out there and how they can benefit their companies, there will be a warm welcome extended by Sumlock Electronics and our key Technological Partners.

Sumlock has joined forces with NComputing to facilitate the sale of thin clients to allow HD quality to the desktop via the network.

New website goes live

Our new website has been developed to enable our customers to check cover on their equipment and log service calls against it 24/7. Another move towards complete customer satisfaction.

Sumlock has moved

Sumlock has made the move to larger premises to allow an improved demonstration suite with the latest AV equipment and also build an internal data centre. The new offices in Killingworth have been kitted out with state of the art thin computers which run at 1 watt and full flash video, therefore considerably saving on power. We have also moved to an NEC flexpower server offering a 40% power saving and are currently implementing a Hubble cabling infrastructure which will run at a 10gb backbone up to 60m.

Sumlock moves to 24/7 cover

Sumlock has taken the step to increase customer satisfaction by offering a 24/7 response and has taken on its first 24/7 client. The successful Scottish data centre has signed a 12 month contract with Sumlock.

Sumlock created an online facility to enable us to set up remote office workers for our new accounting service. They dealt directly with the software supplier to create a workable, affordable solution. We would highly recommend their expertise in assessing customer needs ...
